I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Maryland. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland College Park and earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. A majority of my experience is with diverse individuals who are college-age or older struggling with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Trauma, Self-Esteem, Peer Relationships, Coping Skills, Self-Exploration, Life Transitions, and Stress.
I understand that therapy is not a one size fits all, so my approach is collaborative and adaptable to meet each client’s specific needs. I take time to help clients explore and understand how their past experiences impact their current ways of coping and worldview. Using this insight, we work to identify common themes and underlying patterns to unlearn and challenge negative thought patterns. Empathy and unconditional positive regard are key elements that help us build a connection to evoke empowerment and change. You are encouraged to take the lead during therapy as you are the expert on yourself. I also can equip you with skills and knowledge that you can use throughout your life to continuously accomplish your goals.
I also incorporate brainspotting which helps target trauma at the root but is also useful for many other issues as well. Brainspotting is a form of therapy that helps our bodies heal itself through eye positioning. It is a powerful way to do deeper work that allows for more effective and long-lasting change. Brainspotting could be a good fit for you if you feel like you’ve talked through as much as you could in therapy, but are still feeling stuck. Therapy isn’t easy, but there is always growth in discomfort.
